TMJ Disorders.

The Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ), the joint where the the lower jaw joins the temporal bone of the skull on each side. This can become very painful and often results from the bruxism or teeth grinding during sleep.

A splint can be made which will cushion this grinding action. A couple of examples are shown to the right.

Snoring…

Yes, snoring can be reduced or eliminated by treatments available with Dr. Aguirre. The SilentNite™ device shown to the right can be extremely helpful for this problem.

 

Sleep Apnea…

An even more serious problem is sleep apnea, which is the occasional cessation of breathing while sleeping. There are a variety of treatments that can be used. The TAP device shown at right can be fitted to provide relief and a better night's sleep to those who suffer from this disorder.
